Something shifts when the mornings get cooler.

The cold green smoothie that felt perfect in July starts to feel like a chore. You want something warmer. Something that tastes like the season.

So we whipped up something with apple, cinnamon, and oats.

It tastes like apple pie filling. It blends in about two minutes. And it brings a real dose of fiber.

    The Recipe

    Makes: 1 large smoothie

    • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
    • 1 small apple, cored and chopped (leave the skin on)
    • 1/4 cup rolled oats
    • 2 scoops Vegan Vanilla Proteini
    • 1 tablespoon almond butter
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • A handful of ice

    Method

    1. Add the almond milk to your blender first. It helps everything else move.
    2. Add the apple, oats, almond butter, and cinnamon.
    3. Add the Proteini scoop, then the ice on top.
    4. Blend about 45 seconds, until completely smooth.
    5. Pour, dust with a little extra cinnamon, and drink.

Want it thicker? Freeze the apple chunks the night before.

    Why These Ingredients Work

    Oats: The Sponge

Rolled oats bring soluble fiber. A lot of it.

Soluble fiber dissolves in water. In your gut it turns into a soft gel. It's kinda like a sponge. That gel slows how fast everything moves through, which is what makes a breakfast feel like it lasted.

    Apple Skin: The Broom

Leave the skin on. That's where most of the insoluble fiber lives.

Insoluble fiber doesn't dissolve. It adds bulk and helps keep things moving. If soluble fiber is the sponge, this one is the broom.

You want both kinds. Most whole foods give you a mix, and the apple is a good example.

    Cinnamon: The Warm Note

Cinnamon does the flavor work here. It makes the whole glass read as dessert, with no added sugar doing the lifting.

Vegan Vanilla Proteini: The Staying Power

One scoop brings 16g of plant protein from 10 organic superfoods.

Fiber and protein are a pair. Fiber slows digestion and steadies your blood sugar. Protein helps trigger the fullness signals that tell your brain you've eaten. Neither one does the whole job alone.

That's the combination this glass is built around.

    When To Drink It

Morning is the natural slot. A breakfast with both fiber and protein tends to make the rest of the day easier to steer.
