This smoothie is full of red, white and blue spirit! After missing out on 4th of July last year, we went a little extra this year. This beautiful 3 layered smoothie is guaranteed to elicit as many oooos from your guests as the fireworks from up above!
This smoothie is the perfect way to cool down a hot day and keep your body perfectly on track throughout the summer barbeques and parties. Every layer of the smoothie has an amazing health benefit you can brag about- from metabolism boosting reds to a creamy, slimming plant protein and a brilliant blue cleanse.
There are a few tricks to getting that perfect layered smoothie look. The first trick is to make sure your smoothies are thick- one way to do this is to add plenty of ice to give them that denseness! You can also pour the first layer into your glass and then give them a quick chill in the freezer. This lets the top of that smoothie get a little more frozen so it can take the weight of the next smoothie flavor you pour in.
RED LAYER: 1 scoop Revive Beets and Roots, ¼ cup frozen strawberries, ¼ cup raspberries, honey, 1 cup water, ice cubes
WHITE LAYER: 1 scoop Vegan Vanilla Proteini, ½ frozen banana, 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk, ice cubes
BLUE LAYER: 1 scoop Pineapple Chia Cleanse, ¼ cup frozen blueberries, blue spirulina, 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk, ground flax, ice cubes
In a blender, combine red smoothie ingredients together. Blend until smooth and pour into a glass until ⅓ full. Fill up to 4 glasses in a similar manner. Be careful to keep the sides of the glass clean. If smoothie is not dense enough, place in freezer for 20 minutes to help keep layers separate. This will give you your bottom red layer.
In a blender combine white ingredients together. Blend until smooth and carefully pour on top of the red layer until glass is ⅔ full. If smoothie is not dense enough, place in freezer for 20 minutes to help keep layers separate. This will give you your second creamy white layer.
In a blender combine blue ingredients together. Blend until smooth and slowly top off your glass until full.
