Today, more and more patients that I see in my practice as a physician tend to be overweight or obese. According to population studies and research, it is estimated thattwo out of three adults in the U.S. are either overweight or obese! In the vast majority of these patients, there are two common factors that I frequently encounter- they have high blood sugar (prediabetic or diabetic) and they often crave unhealthy types of foods.
You see, consuming unhealthy foods high in sugar or refined carbs can make us feel “high,” or the feeling that we have more energy right away by quickly increasing our blood sugar levels. These types of foods also make us feel less stressed by reducing our stress hormone, or cortisol, levels. Unfortunately, these effects are only temporary and have negative consequences. When we have higher than normal blood sugar levels, our body has to rapidly produce insulin in an attempt to lower the increased blood sugar and keep it consistent- this causes hypoglycemia, or blood sugar level that drops below the normal range. This sudden drop in blood sugar can give rise to a “sugar crash,” or a feeling of sudden fatigue, irritability or headache within 3-4 hours after eating a meal high in sugar. The continuous spike in blood sugar and insulin levels from eating high sugar meals may eventually lead to insulin resistance, which can cause weight gain and increase belly fat.
When it comes to fighting sugar cravings, consuming more fiber and protein is the key- which is why we’ve specifically formulated theCut Cravings Bundle with these important nutrients and more! Fiber helps slow digestion, making you feel full longer and also helps with slowing the rate at which sugar is released into your bloodstream. These effects help to sustain a steady energy level after eating, in turn helping you lose weight. Protein is important because it stimulates the production of certain hormones that help to decrease appetite and make you feel full and satisfied after eating. This can help prevent you from overeating and snacking on junk foods during the day.
This bundle is perfect for those who are experiencing:
Vegan Vanilla Proteini offers a good blend of complete organic plant-based protein from over 10 different types of superfoods- such as peas, hemp, maca, sacha inchi and sprouts. These ingredients provide many different vitamins, minerals, fiber and nutrients to help cut cravings, promote a healthy blood sugar level, provide increased energy levels, and support daily detoxification throughout the day.
Pineapple Chia Cleanse contains plenty of fiber, which is the most important nutrient missing in our daily diets! This formula contains a unique blend of 15 superfood fibers (derived from foods like amaranth, quinoa, sprouts, etc.) which provides many different health benefits, such as helping to cut cravings, supporting healthy detoxification, promoting weight loss and healthy blood sugar levels, and assisting with healthy bowel movements. Prebiotics and probiotics are also included in the formula to promote overall digestive health.
We have provided a sample schedule below on how to incorporate the Cut Cravings Bundle into your current daily schedule. This can help ensure you receive the proper amount of nutrients, while consuming the right types of nutrients during the right time of day. It is also important to work with a licensed dietician (preferable who specializes in integrative or functional medicine) to tailor a specific schedule that fits your appropriate lifestyle and health goals.

* Note: When just getting started with a fiber, we recommend starting off with just 1/3 of the scoop once a day with plenty of water. After a few days of good results, you can increase to 2/3 scoop for another week, then work your way up to a full scoop. You will want to take it easy to start- increase fluids and physical activity to help move things along. It is also important to remember that large amounts of fiber can affect the absorption of medications, so take your medications one to two hours before taking a fiber supplement.
